Significant reductions in the speed of passing traffic can be achieved with a SpeedVisor from Radarlux Radar Systems (UK) Limited. The vehicle activated sign or speed indicator device has a proven track record and has been widely accepted as a major asset in the fight against excessive speed.  The approaching vehicle velocity is measured by the integrated radar unit and flashed up on a high visibility red display using advanced LED technology. The display automatically adjusts to the ambient light conditions. It may be programmed to display the posted speed limit or the actual vehicle speed.

Power is provided by internally housed 12v batteries that give up to 12 days continuous operation. Semi permanent installations can be connected to an AC power supply or with solar power as a further option. Ruggedly built to withstand weather and vandal attack, the SpeedVisor is supplied with anti-theft mounting brackets and can be easily and quickly installed by two people, either to an existing street furniture or its own pole.

Research has proved the SpeedVisor to be an excellent traffic-calming device, which makes a significant contribution to improved road safety.

It can also simultaneously monitor and document traffic speeds and patterns. Data is recorded on a removable memory stick that has the capacity for 270,000 vehicles. The memory stick can be downloaded to a portable PC on site or remotely via a GSM modem. Software is available to analyse the data and present it both numerically or graphically. Data may be exported and reviewed in most common spreadsheet packages.
